PhD in Pathology

Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) offers postgraduate education through the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS). Oversight of research and the academic program is carried out by university bodies including the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR), Institutional (ethical) Review Board (IRB), Doctoral Admission Committee, and other similar entities. Currently, over 180 M.Phil and PhD students have graduated from DUHS and are holding key positions at esteemed national and international institutions.

The University offers full-time PhD program in the key areas of Basic Medical and has developed the semester format to allow a greater range of options within the program to meet the requirements of medically trained personnel who wish to enter teaching and research career in medical and allied health sciences. It provides a sound understanding of human health and disease and diagnostic approaches at the molecular level applying contemporary techniques of modern biomedicine. It provides opportunities to acquire and develop the skills of synthesis, analysis and decision making, required for careers in the field of medical research. Thus, the students are trained as the subject specialist, a researcher, and a resource person, well equipped with the methodologies of modern trends of teaching and research in basic medical sciences. The program involves course work and original research thesis components.
