MPhil in Pharmacognosy

M.Phil. in Pharmacognosy is a full-time postgraduate research degree program since 2013 that explores deep in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the focus on natural origin sources including plants, animals, marine, micro-organisms, and minerals. This science of research includes study related to procurement of drugs from said sources, effect of these drugs on animals as well as human subjects, drug profiles etc. It covers the clinical aspects of natural medicines. It emphasizes herbal formulation development, quality control and standardization of natural medicines. Other major domains include toxicity studies and natural medicines interaction with conventional medicine and food. It also elaborates the industrial aspects including herbal medicines, cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals, and exploration of new drugs of natural origin.
