About the Procurement Directorate
The Procurement Directorate is the office responsible for the acquisition of Equipment / Instruments, Drugs / Medicines of DUH, Implants, Surgical, Disposables, Kits, Re-agents and ancillaries for Dow University of Health Sciences. The Procurement Directorate is conscious of its responsibility and accountability in the expenditure of public funds. Therefore, the Procurement Directorate maintains a competitive bidding process in accordance with Federal and Provincial laws and regulations. It is the Procurement Directorate’s policy, to encourage the participation of qualified vendors in the bidding process.
Objectives
The DUHS management clearly understands the importance of the procurement function and has tasked the Procurement Directorate with the responsibility of accomplishing the following objectives:
- To procure required services, materials and equipment while ensuring that quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness are achieved.
- To ensure that procurement transactions are conducted in a manner providing full and open competition whenever practicable.
- To comply with procurement rules and applicable laws and regulations as required.
- To solicit the participation of all eligible and responsible contractors and suppliers in the procurement process.
- To obtain the best value for the money spent.
- To eliminate the possibility of corruption or unethical practices in the procurement process.

- Requests for Proposal
- Requests for Quotation
- Issue contract and purchase orders
- Develops term contracts
- Acquires supplies and services
