The Department of Thoracic Surgery at Ojha Institute of Chest Disease is a longstanding department with a proven track record of providing high-quality care for patients with thoracic conditions. Our department has a rich history of successful surgical interventions.
Over the past 10 years, our skilled surgical team has performed over 2,800+ surgeries, demonstrating our commitment to excellence and patient safety. We specialize in a wide range of thoracic procedures, including Thoracotomy and Decortication, Lung resection (Lobectomy / Pneumonectomy) for Post Tuberculosis complication / Lung Cancer, Chest wall tumor excision and reconstruction of Chest wall, Pleuroscopy, Mediastinoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Excision of Mediastinal tumor, Diaphragmatic Hernia repair, Hydatid cyst excision, Esophageal Surgeries, etc.

Services Offered
- Outpatient Clinics (OPDs):
- Mondays: 08:30 AM to 02:00 PM
- Fridays: 08:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Operation Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
- Ward & Academic Day: Saturday
The Department of Thoracic Surgery is actively engaged in various community outreach initiatives. We regularly organize walks, academic programs, workshops, and educate the community about thoracic diseases by different public awareness campaigns.
For patient safety, the department works in collaboration with an Infectious Diseases department to enhance infection prevention and control measures. We also continuously explore new treatment plans and innovative practices for improved outcomes.
