Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases (O.I.C.D) successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Troubleshooting: Tube Thoracostomy & Its Complications” on February 10, 2025. This workshop was conducted in response to the increasing need for advanced procedural training in tube thoracostomy.

The session aimed to enhance clinical expertise through interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Participants gained valuable insights into tube thoracostomy procedures, potential complications, and effective troubleshooting techniques. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for residents and medical officers to refine their skills under the guidance of experienced faculty.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our honorable guest, Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hassan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, DUHS, for gracing us with her presence. Dr. Niaz Soomro, Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery, served as the Workshop Director, while Dr. Aisha Asim, SR Pulmonology, was the workshop organizer, and Dr. Hina Asghar, SMO Pulmonology, coordinated the event. The session was expertly facilitated by Dr. Shagufta, Dr. Amber, and Dr. Karar, who actively engaged with participants and addressed their clinical queries.

We would also like to acknowledge Ms. Hurain Iqbal, Quality Assurance Officer, for her efforts in ensuring the success of this event.

The workshop received an overwhelmingly positive response, with participants appreciating the practical exposure and interactive learning approach. Many attendees expressed their interest in future academic activities to further develop their clinical expertise.
