Microbiology DUHS, in collaboration with MMIDSP, successfully organized a pre-conference workshop as part of the 22nd Annual Conference of the Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP).

The workshop, titled “NGS Insights and Linux Hands-on: Tackling AMR in MDR/XDR Pathogens,” was held on 4th February 2025 and provided valuable insights into Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and its applications in clinical microbiology.

Dr. Ambreen Fatima, Associate Professor and Head of Microbiology at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), delivered an informative session on NGS in microbiology, while Dr. Khitab Gul, Assistant Professor at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, conducted a hands-on training session on Linux for NGS data analysis.

With 25 participants from various institutes across the city, the workshop served as an excellent platform for learning and collaboration.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor of DUHS, Dr. Jahan Ara Hassan graced the certificate distribution ceremony, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team and emphasizing the significance of such training programs in advancing microbiological research and diagnostics.
