Workshop “Candida AURIS: A Hidden Challenge for Health Care Settings”

The Microbiology Section of Dow Diagnostic and Reference Lab (DDRRL) organized a hands-on workshop titled “Candida auris: A Hidden Challenge for Health Care Settings” on February 26th, 2024.
Approximately thirty-five individuals from over ten different laboratories and universities participated in the event. The esteemed speakers included:
-Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad Khan, Coordinator CEOH (Center for Environmental and Occupational Health) at NIH
-Dr. Tehreem Ansari, Assistant Professor and Co-chair of Infection Control at DUHS
-Dr. Ambreen Fatima, Assistant Professor and Head of Microbiology at DDRRL, DUHS
Following the workshop, participants were presented with certificates and honors by Pro Vice Chancellor DUHS Prof. Dr. Jaha Ara Hasan and Director DDRRL Prof. Dr. Asif Qureshi.
Prof. Dr. Asif Qureshi delivered a thank-you speech and closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their engagement and contributions. He also extended an invitation for participants to share their workshop experiences.
The workshop served as a vital platform for knowledge dissemination and collaborative learning in addressing the challenges posed by Candida auris in healthcare settings.
