The Role of Genomics in Public Health Delivery and Policy Making

On Thursday, October 24th, 2024, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) had the privilege of hosting an enlightening session led by Dr. Naveed Aziz, Vice President of Research & Innovation at Genome Canada and Chief Executive Officer of CGEn, Canada.

Dr. Aziz shared his expertise on the pivotal role of genomics in enhancing public health delivery and shaping effective policy-making.

The session, held in the SPH Auditorium on the DUHS (Ojha) Campus, attracted a diverse audience eager to explore the intersections of genomics, health, and policy. Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue about the importance of incorporating genomic data into health strategies, thereby advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3—Good Health and Well-Being, 4—Quality Education, and 8—Decent Work and Economic Growth.
