Successful Academic Session on Leprosy Awareness

The Dermatology Department of DIMC successfully conducted a highly anticipated academic session on Leprosy Awareness on Friday, 14th February 2025. The session was organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Association of Dermatologists and Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) to enhance recognition, prompt examination, and early treatment of leprosy patients.

The session, titled “The Role of a Dermatologist in Identifying and Examining Leprosy,” was a high-demand academic activity aimed at equipping participants with essential examination skills.

The session featured an engaging interactive learning lecture series delivered by distinguished experts:

– Dr. Saba (Associate Professor, Dermatopathology, DIMC) – Identifying Leprosy Under the Microscope

– Dr. Iram (Leprosy Specialist, MALC) – Overview of Leprosy

– Dr. Zia Mutahir (Leprosy Specialist, MALC) – Examination of Leprosy Patients: Live Demonstration on a Patient

In addition, DIMC Dermatology Faculty—Dr. Sadaf, Dr. Madiha, and Dr. Sadia—provided hands-on training, sharing their expertise, tips, and tricks for effective leprosy examination. The session received overwhelming response and excellent feedback from participants across various institutes.

– Dr. Manzoor Memon, who delivered a special segment on Nerve Examination in 60 Seconds
