The Department of Dermatology, DIMC, in collaboration with the Pakistan Association of Dermatologists (PAD), conducted a highly successful academic session titled “Common Cutaneous Infections and Infestations” on Friday, 24th January 2025. This session was organized in response to high demand and marked the 5th installment in the GP/MO teaching initiative aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of primary health workers in effectively diagnosing and treating infections and infestations for improved patient care.
Dr. Sadaf Ahmed, Head of the Dermatology Department at DIMC, served as the program director, facilitating the event with exceptional expertise. The session featured an engaging and interactive lecture series delivered by the following esteemed speakers:
– Dr. Sitwat Fareed (In-Charge Dermatology, UMDC)
– Dr. Faryal Shareef (Consultant Dermatologist, ISD)
– Dr. Ayesha Hina (Assistant Professor, Dermatology, LNH)
These lectures addressed key academic queries and provided practical insights into the management of cutaneous infections and infestations. The session garnered an overwhelming response, with participants from various regions of Sindh and Balochistan expressing their appreciation.
Adding to the event’s prestige, Dr. Sheeraz Ahmed Dawach, International Secretary of PAD, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. He shared his invaluable experiences, further enriching the learning experience for attendees.
Every aspect of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) session was meticulously planned, with facilitators presenting the subject matter in a simplified yet authoritative manner for easy comprehension. The session concluded with immense appreciation and positive feedback from participants, alongside numerous requests for similar academic activities in the future.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being.
