Profile:
Professor Mowadat H Rana is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom, and College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, with a degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from the University of Oxford.
An author of more than seventy publications in peer-reviewed journals and thirteen books including Textbook of Behavioural Sciences, he is a Board Member of Pakistan Red Crescent, Adjunct Professor at the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, two-time winner of the Avicenna Award, and a recipient of Sitara e Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in the field of Health. He has been the Dean of Psychiatry at CPSP for ten years, Advisor in Psychiatry and founding Commandant of the Armed Forces Institute of Mental Health.
Pakistan Psychiatric Society has recently given him a Gold Medal and Lifetime Achievement Award.
