DUHS Nursing Services is proud to announce the successful completion of an ECG (Electrocardiogram) Rhythm Interpretation Certification Workshop, held in collaboration with the Cardiac Care Unit on 17th December 2024. This hands-on learning session was designed to equip critical care nursing staff with the skills to analyze and interpret ECG tracings. The workshop combined theoretical knowledge with one-on-one discussions (viva), focusing on the identification of various heart conditions, arrhythmias, and abnormal ECG patterns.
Teaching ECG (Electrocardiogram) interpretation to nurses is crucial, particularly in improving patient care, enhancing clinical decision-making, and promoting better outcomes in critical situations.
The course was led by Ms. Farzana Kabeer, Post RN BSCN from Aga Khan University Hospital, an instructor certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS by the American Heart Association. Ms. Kabeer has extensive experience working in Critical Care Units and has served as a nurse instructor for nearly a decade. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Qureshi, Consultant Cardiologist and Training Center Faculty for AHA in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP, also co-facilitated the workshop.
We are proud to have had both of these experts lead the session, helping us achieve this important milestone for our nursing team. We had a total of 23 participants out of which 18 successfully passed the pre/post-examination criteria of scoring 75% and Pass/fail in viva.
