DUHS Launches National Outreach Program for Higher Education Faculty in Collaboration with HEC-NAHE

On November 18, 2024, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) inaugurated the NAHE-DUHS National Outreach Program for Higher Education Faculty at the SMART Classroom, DMC. The ceremony was led by Mr. Sulaiman Ahmad, Director NAHE, and graced by Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy T.I, Vice Chancellor DUHS, alongside notable guests including Sohail Mangi (Assistant Director NAHE), Prof. Dr. Zulfqiar Memon (Resource Person NAHE), Prof. Yahya Noori (Director Digital Learning), and Ms. Sanam Soomro (Director QEC).

This four-week Faculty Development Program, a collaboration with the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), aims to enhance professional competencies among 32 junior faculty members from 26 departments at DUHS. The program consists of 10 modules covering key areas like technology integration, innovative teaching methodologies, and communication skills to foster effective teaching and learning.

Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy T.I highlighted the program’s dynamic focus on equipping educators with the skills needed to navigate the digital landscape and design engaging learning environments. Mr. Sulaiman Ahmad congratulated DUHS for being the first institution in Sindh to offer this initiative.

Key modules include “Teaching as a Profession in Higher Education,” facilitated by Prof. Dr. Zulfqiar Memon. The program aligns with SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education). Ms. Sanam Soomro, who authored the program proposal, serves as the official training coordinator. The program runs from November 18 to December 13, 2024.
