The Department of Family Medicine at Dow International Medical College (DIMC) commemorated World Family Doctors Day 2024 on May 21st, 2024, at the Urban Health Centre in Chanesar Goth. The event, held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, highlighted the vital role of family doctors in promoting health and well-being.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed, Dean of Medicine & Principal, Dow International Medical College and Professor Amyna Sheikh, Principal, of Dow International Dental College.
In line with this year’s theme, “Healthy Planet, Healthy People,” the event focused on the vital link between environmental health and human health.
Dr. Anum Arshad Beg, Head of Family Medicine, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the impact of climate change on public health. Following the presentation, a stimulating group activity engaged 4th-year MBBS students. They brainstormed practical solutions to environmental challenges, fostering a sense of responsibility for planetary health.
