Dow Institute of Nursing and Midwifery organized and celebrated International Nursing Day on 29th May 2023 where several nursing institutions from various universities across Karachi participated in this event it is the first International Nursing Day celebrated during the last five years that is celebrated by DIONAM, making its presence felt within the nursing fraternity at the national level.
Mr. Nadeem Uddin, Ms. Rukhsana Haroon and Ms. Madiha Saleem managed the proceedings superbly while the meaningful panel discussion Prof. Tazeen, Dean of The Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM), Ms. Aliya Nasir Director Hamdard College of Nursing, Ms. Judith of Liaquat National Hospital, Ms. Abida Associate Professor of Bahria University Medical & Dental College & Mr. Shahzad from Ziauddin College of Nursing & Midwifery led by Mr. Amjad.
This event opens the door for networking, fostering collaboration, and professional recognition.
Ms. Rubina Qasim welcomed the guest and overviewed the past and present status of Dow Institute of Nursing and Midwifery DIONAM while Dr. Ashar Afaq – Registrar DUHS said that by Affiliating 45 Nursing colleges stands as the largest university in the province. In applause, he said that after the successful Master of Science in Nursing program the DUHS is to start PhD Nursing soon. Mr. Hakim Shah & Mr. Badil Das presented Ph D papers reflecting the essence of Nursing w.r.t Ms. Nightingale & her successors.
In their brief speeches, prominent public sector leaders Mr. Shabir and Ms. Khairunnisa applauded the Director & Team Spirit of Dow Institute of Nursing and Midwifery DIONAM for setting next-level traditions. Before lunch, the shields and bouquet were presented to guests & faculty.
