Director – Centre of Excellence (Trauma & Emergencies) at AKUH visits DUH

We were honoured to host Dr. Junaid Razzak, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Trauma & Emergencies at AKUH, on the invitation of Dr. Aysha Abbasi, HOD of the Emergency Medicine Department at the Trauma Center, during his visit to the Dow University Hospital Ojha Campus Emergency Department. Dr. Razzak’s visit included a comprehensive departmental briefing and rounds, during which we discussed key initiatives such as establishing a trauma registry to integrate our centre with other facilities across Karachi.

Additionally, we covered disaster management training and on-ground policy-making strategies, highlighting our commitment to enhancing emergency response and patient care. We were also privileged to have Professor Dr. Jahan Ara Hassan, Pro VC & Medical Superintendent, join the rounds. Her presence, alongside Dr. Razzak, made the visit even more meaningful. Dr. Razzak praised the efforts of Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy T.I, Vice Chancellor of DUHS, in establishing a state-of-the-art Trauma Center at Ojha Campus.

We are grateful for the visit from CETE and DUHS leadership and appreciate the collaborative spirit demonstrated during this visit. We look forward to implementing the discussed initiatives to strengthen our emergency services and better serve our community.
