“Continuing Medical Education (CME) lecture” The Department of Pediatrics

The Department of Pediatrics organized a “Continuing Medical Education (CME) lecture” on the latest updates in the management of TB in children on 20th March 2024.
The theme of the event was “Yes, We Can End TB,” This event was held at the Dow Medical College (DMC) campus, Department of Pediatrics Unit I, Dow Medical College / Dow University of Health Sciences / Dr. Ruth K M Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, and was attended by faculty members, doctors, postgraduates, house officers, and students.
The event was moderated by Dr. Waseem Jamalavi and commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Chief CME Coordinator, Professional Development Centre, DUHS, Prof. Muzamil Shabana Ejaz, Chairperson of Pediatrics, delivered the introductory remarks and highlighted the significance of World TB Day.
This was followed by a CME talk by Dr. Samina Junejo, a Consultant Infectious Disease Pediatrician. Prof. Fehmina Arif, HOD Pediatrics UNIT III, also shared valuable comments on the talk.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Hafiza Sania, and a certificate of appreciation was presented to Dr. Samina Junejo. Overall, the event was a success, and the attendees left with a greater awareness and improved understanding of TB and its management and the efforts to elimiate TB.
