The Faculty of Community Dentistry, Dr. Priya Talreja, in collaboration with Dr. Sohail Sadat, organized a community outreach program with third-year dental students from Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan Institute of Oral Health Sciences (DIKIOHS) to promote oral health among 150 children aged 6–15 years at Al-Furqan Welfare Organization.

The initiative involved oral health screening to identify conditions such as caries, staining, and calculus, while also providing personalized advice to each child. Educational sessions emphasized proper oral hygiene practices, featuring hands-on demonstrations of brushing and flossing techniques.

This program also arranged productive oral health activities for the children, focusing on choosing healthy food habits in their daily life and proper brushing techniques. BDS students gave self-made badges as tokens of appreciation to the children, representing DUHS to the participants in the activities.

This program underscores the importance of health promotion and risk reduction in combating dental diseases. It highlights the faculty’s dedication to fostering a generation that prioritizes oral health while contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

– SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

– SDG 4: Quality Education
