About Us

The subject of Science of Dental Materials is taught in 2nd year of BDS. It focuses on understanding the mechanical, physical, biological and chemical properties of materials used in dentistry, their composition, manipulative techniques and applications and their interaction with the oral environment in which they are placed. This enables the students to select, handle and apply various materials effectively and safely in clinical practice. The curriculum combines theoretical concepts with hands-on practical learning in a fully equipped laboratory with modern tools and technology to facilitate an in depth understanding of dental materials. With a strong foundation in theory, practical skills and research, students are well-prepared to provide high quality, evidence-based dental care while staying updated with emerging trends in dental materials.
