About DDC
Enter a new era with our standalone Paediatric Dentistry Department, a historic milestone in Karachi. Born from the Operative Dentistry Department, it now boasts 10 specialized dental units, addressing unique pediatric dental needs. Our expanded faculty and facilities provide a comprehensive educational journey, focusing on prevention, restorations, traumas, and interceptive orthodontics. Committed to holistic care, we enhance children’s oral health and overall well-being from birth to adolescence.
Established in 2012, Dow Dental College (DDC) prioritizes professional excellence in dental sciences. The original building, inaugurated by Prof Sharif Chaudhry, saw its Outpatient Department (OPD) begin operations in October 2012. With the first batch of 50 students admitted in the same year, DDC’s commitment to quality dental education continued. In November 2018, a new seven-story facility, funded by HEC and local grants, was inaugurated, showcasing cutting-edge facilities for teaching and research. Dedicated to improving clinical services and student training, DDC invests in advanced equipment and faculty development, aligning with the University’s mission for dental sciences excellence.

Dow Dental College is the latest addition to the list of dental institutes under the umbrella of Dow University of Health Sciences and aspires to become one of the best in the region. The College has exceptionally well-trained faculty and infrastructure of international standards. We have a student-to-senior faculty ratio of 7:1. Our infrastructure is purpose-built for undergraduate and postgraduate research in the dental sciences. The newly constructed building of Dow Dental College provides state-of-art facilities for teaching and advanced research. Currently, it is the only dental college in the country with an Advanced Research Laboratory, which is part of DOW Smart Laboratories. We believe that it has the potential of becoming a regional center of excellence for academics, oral science research, and quality patient care.
To cultivate proficient medical professionals through quality education, character development, and discipline. Our aim is to graduate doctors with robust practical, communication, and problem-solving skills, dedicated to serving the community. Additionally, we strive to foster self-learners well-equipped with strong research skills.
