The Department of ENT Unit-I, Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau, Civil Hospital Karachi, Dow Medical College, DUHS, under the leadership of Prof. Zeba Ahmed, Head of the Department of ENT Head & Neck Surgery, successfully celebrated World Hearing Day 2025, effectively promoting ear and hearing care under the theme “Changing Mindsets.”

The event featured informative presentations on prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, including a compelling data presentation of surgically treated chronic otitis media cases. An engaging quiz, a celebratory cake-cutting, and certificate distribution by Principal Dow Medical College, Prof. Saba Sohail, and Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Karachi, Dr. Khalid Bukhari, added both interactive and motivational elements.

The program effectively raised public awareness through an impactful awareness walk, complete with placards and banners, culminating in a symbolic balloon release. The event’s comprehensive approach, targeting medical professionals, students, and the general public, contributed significantly to increased understanding of hearing health, underscored the importance of early intervention and accessible services, and demonstrated robust institutional support.
