An engaging and transformative educational workshop titled “Bridging Basic Medical Science and Clinical Practice: Effective Teaching Strategies for Medical Education” was successfully conducted on 9th January 2025 at professional development centre, DOW medical college.

This workshop was facilitated by Dr Imran Siddique, who is a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Medical Education at the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU. The event brought together medical educators, faculty members, and teaching professionals from diverse institutions to enhance their skills and exchange ideas on innovative teaching methodologies in medical education.

Dr Imran shared his experience of medical education at medical schools in the United States. His thought-provoking presentation covered topics such as Competency-based education, active learning techniques, shortened preclinical curriculum and constructing a flipped classroom activity.

The success of this workshop underscores the growing need for continuous professional development in medical education. Dow University of Health Sciences remains committed to fostering excellence in teaching through such initiatives.
