The Faculty of Community Dentistry, including Dr. Muhammad Taqi, Dr. Adnan Anwar, Dr. Mona Shah, and Dr. Amber Saeed, organized a community outreach program with third-year dental students from Dow Dental College (DDC) to promote oral health among 200 children aged 10–14 at Government Boys Secondary School, Kotwal Building.
The initiative involved oral health screenings using WHO assessment forms to identify conditions such as caries, staining, and calculus, while also providing personalized advice to each child. Educational sessions emphasized proper oral hygiene practices, featuring hands-on demonstrations of brushing and flossing techniques. Each child was provided with a dental kit to encourage sustained oral care habits.
This program underscores the importance of health promotion and risk reduction in combating dental diseases. It highlights the faculty’s dedication to fostering a generation that prioritizes oral health while contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 3: Good health and well-being
SDG 4: Quality education
