Dow University of Health Sciences and UBL Partner for IV Antibiotics Dilution Lab
On October 9, 2024, a significant partnership was formalized at the Vice Chancellor’s Board Room at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Karachi, where United Bank Limited (UBL) presented a generous donation of 20 million rupees to support the construction and installation of Pakistan’s first intravenous (IV) antibiotics dilution laboratory. The donation, aligned with UBL’s Sustainability agenda, was provided in two separate tranches.
The cheque presentation ceremony was attended by key representatives from both institutions. The UBL team included the General Manager (GM) of Karachi, GM Operations (OPS), Regional Business Heads (RBH), Regional Sales Managers (RSM), and the marketing team from UBL’s Head Office, along with branch management. Leading the DUHS team were Syed Zain ul Aabideen Shah, Director of Finance; Faisal Ghous Shah, Manager of Treasury; and Syed M. Khalid Bukhari, Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Karachi. During the event, the UBL delegation also had the opportunity to meet with Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy T.I.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this collaboration. UBL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting DUHS in its efforts to provide critical care to underprivileged patients, while DUHS management expressed heartfelt appreciation for UBL’s generous contribution in establishing this groundbreaking IV antibiotics laboratory, which will significantly enhance patient care.
