A highly informative and interactive workshop titled “Early Detection Matters: A Comprehensive Workshop on Mammogram” was successfully held on October 12th, 2024, at the Dow Institute of Radiology (DIR). The event focused on the crucial role of mammography in the early detection of breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of timely diagnosis and accurate interpretation.
The workshop was expertly led by Prof. Dr. Nasreen Naz, Director & Chairperson of DIR, and co-organized by an esteemed team including Dr. Ayesha Walid, Dr. Anila Rahim, Dr. Naila Jabeen, Ms. Rahila Arshad Ali, and Mr. Maaz Shamsi. The event attracted a diverse audience of healthcare professionals, students, and senior medical officers from renowned institutions such as PNS Shifa, Saifee Hospital, JPMS, SIDH, DUHS, Civil Hospital, and Patel Hospital.
The workshop was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hassan, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Medical Superintendent of DUHS Ojha, whose valuable insights and encouragement motivated the participants.
The workshop included detailed presentations combined with interactive case discussions on PACS. Participants engaged in quizzes and assessments designed to test their knowledge and improve their practical skills in mammography.
Both the Chief Guest and participants praised the workshop for its comprehensive content and engaging format. The workshop concluded with a commitment to continue such educational efforts, further empowering healthcare professionals to detect and manage breast cancer at an early stage, ultimately saving lives.
