Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) at Dow University of Health Sciences

From June 4th to June 6th, 2024, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) hosted a significant event, the Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE), under the revised Quality Assurance Framework, ‘Pakistan Percepts, Standards and Guidelines (PSG-2023) in Higher Education’ introduced by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

A team of expert evaluators, both internal and external, constituted the Review Panel for this event, facilitated by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of DUHS. The external evaluators were:

•Dr. Imran Ullah Marwat, Director QA, Higher Education Department, KP, Peshawar.

•Ms. Mahwish Asmat Ullah, Deputy Director QEC, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Peshawar.

•Dr. Arisha Samin Naqvi, Director QEC, Sohail University, Karachi.

The internal evaluators included:

•Prof. Rabia Bushra, Chairperson of Pharmaceutics, Dow College of Pharmacy.

•Dr. Khurram Parvez, Vice Principal, Associate Professor, DIKIOHS.

•Dr. Muhammad Bilal Azmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, DMC.

During the three-day review, the evaluators engaged in thorough assessments of the university’s performance. They reviewed academic and administrative processes, met with faculty members, staff, and students, and examined various facilities and resources.

This event marks a significant step in DUHS’s journey towards excellence in higher education, ensuring the institution remains at the forefront of academic and administrative standards.
