Workshop “Bench to Bedside: Biosafety Best Practices for Healthcare Professionals”

An immensely successful one-day biosafety workshop session entitled “Bench to Bedside: Biosafety Best Practices for Healthcare Professionals” was conducted by the Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Dow Institute of Medical Technology, Dow University of Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Pakistan Biological Safety Association, on June 6, 2024.

This hands-on workshop featured key aspects such as:

•Promoting Biosafety in diagnostic settings, hospitals, and academic and research laboratories.

•Basic life support (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training by an instructor from Surgical Technology, DIMT.

•Practical application of the best biosafety practices, including Infection Prevention & Control, Biosafety and Biological Risk Management in the workplace.

Participants were from various DUHS institutions, including DIMT students, Radiology, Regional Blood Centre, and Dow College of Pharmacy; besides DUHS external participants were from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Indus Hospital, Mamji Hospital, and the University of Karachi.
